In each issue of We Like Rug Hooking, the Datebook lists rug-hooking events, classes, exhibits, and gatherings across the United States and in Canada. Listings are in alphabetical or chronological order within the categories. Look for listings in your area under these geographic headings: Canada, Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and West. We categorize listings as follows:

EVENTS: Events that are open to the public and encourage and expand the art of rug hooking. In addition to the date, time, complete address, and contact information, please include a brief description.

INSTRUCTION: It is a goal of We Like Rug Hooking to encourage individuals to learn and develop their skills in the art of rug hooking. As a service to our readers, all instructors are invited to provide the name of their school, class dates, city, state, and phone number.

GALLERIES: Exhibits of hooked rugs. Please provide the date, time, location, contact information, and a brief description.

GATHERINGS: Local groups of rug hookers who meet on a weekly or monthly basis and welcome new members. Please provide the name of your group, meeting time, location, and contact information.

GALLERIES

  • Hooked Rug Museum of North America. 9849 St. Margarets Bay Rd., Hubbards/Queensland, NS. Open 7 days a week, May 1 through mid-October, 10a-5p. The museum has more than 8,700 square feet of gallery space exhibiting historic and contemporary rug-hooking art and artifacts; featuring an exhibit from a Canadian and International Artist of the Year and local rug-hooking groups.
